Pure NZ - Up Against The Wall celebrates a lost part of the New Zealand story that helped build our export success and global reputation as clean, green and natural.
The portraits of kiwi celebrities on show in this exhibition recall when New Zealand first debated the regulation of gene technology. There are photographs from the women from MAdGE and the history of the GE-Free movement that has become an economic advantage for New Zealand.
We know New Zealand isn't pure and we urgently need to do better, but today the world still wants what New Zealand has to offer. This exhibition traces in pictures and words, events that helped build the brand of clean, green New Zealand.
On display at Silo Park until 18th June and online www.pureNZ.net
Curators talk on Saturday 6th June - 11 am - " History, Technology and Scale"
