This is Anna Stichbury's second solo exhibition in Dunedin, at Gallery De Novo. Anna is a popular Wellington based artist, who attended Wellington School of Design and graduated with a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Textiles.
Her bright mixed-media paintings are vibrant and rich in textural surfaces. She has painted her expressive floral works in a variety of sizes and colours for this exhibition. These works sit alongside her popular, individually painted butterfly series - a striking display with their colour reflection and 3D shadow effect.
The Long Way Home title for this exhibition is a nostalgic reminder for taking your time, taking in the world around you and celebrating the simple joy of the journey.
