Mō tēnei arawātea | About this opportunity

Auckland Council is inviting proposals from artists, curators, collectives or community groups for their 2027 programme across: Franklin Arts Centre (Pukekohe), Fresh Gallery Ōtara, Māngere Arts Centre – Ngā Tohu o Uenuku, Papakura Art Gallery and Nathan Homestead Pukepuke.

We're looking for bold, thought-provoking ideas that connect with community and celebrate creativity across all artforms. This is your chance to exhibit in one of Auckland Council’s leading local arts venues, with curatorial support and modest funding available to help bring your vision to life.

Apply from Wednesday 1 July 2026 until Wednesday 12 August 2026.
Notification of proposal outcomes on Friday 11 September 2026.

You might be an established painter, graphic designer, digital artist, sculptor, installation artist, photographer, jeweller, sound artist, fashion designer, musician, or writer. You might be a student or a practitioner, at any level, who has completed works you think are ready to be shared with the public. Community groups and organisations are also welcome to send in a proposal.

What we're looking for:
Creative projects that are ready to take place between January and December 2027
Projects exploring places, people, and themes relevant to the community where the gallery is located
Projects by groups or individuals with well-developed, unique programmes or events
A project idea suitable for one (or more) of the arts facilities listed above.

Thursday 8 July 6pm – 7pm (online)

Thursday 15 July 12pm – 1pm (in person, Nathan Homestead Pukepuke)

Thursday 22 July 6pm – 7pm (online)
