Call for Proposals
CoCA Toi Moroki
Mō mātou | About us
CoCA Toi Moroki is a leading art gallery in Ōtautahi Christchurch governed by the Canterbury Society of Arts Charitable Trust. The gallery has a rich history of supporting the development of arts practitioners and serving the community since it was established more than 140 years ago.
CoCA programmes its exhibitions via an artist-led and open call model. We are committed to cultivating a programme of free contemporary exhibitions and events that deepen community connections.
Mō tēnei arawātea | About this opportunity
We invite proposals from individual artists, groups and art collectives from all disciplines including visual art, crafts and Ngā Toi for our 2027/2028 exhibition programme in our Ō Papa Gallery, whether you’re working solo, in collaboration, or as part of a community-led initiative.
While we prioritise support for artists who are from, or have a connection to Waitaha Canterbury, we are open to proposals from outside our area. We also welcome proposals from community organisations who support artists facing barriers to exhibiting.
To assist artists with their proposals for the 2027/2028 Open Call, we are holding a proposal writing workshop on Zoom. 5.30 – 7.30pm Tuesday 15 September. ID: 987 2175 5012 and passcode: 783771
