Mō mātou | About us

CoCA Toi Moroki empowers artists to create and share work with Waitaha Canterbury communities that deepen connections to our place and our stories. Our vision is to create a thriving home for art and culture in Waitaha, igniting connections between artists and community. CoCA is committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te ao Māori values, and supporting a diverse range of art practices and stories.

Mō tēnei arawātea | About this opportunity

CoCA  Sessions is a new initiative which will expand our artistic programming, showcase diverse performance artists, and engage our Ōtautahi community.

Whether you're working solo, in collaboration, or as part of a community-led initiative we invite proposals from individual artists, groups and collectives. We encourage responses from performing artists working in all kinds of different performance mediums, including dance, music, spoken-word, and performance art.

The proposed Session can be an entirely new standalone piece, site responsive, in response to an upcoming CoCA exhibition (with the artist's permission), or a piece you have previously performed elsewhere that will suit our gallery space.

This pilot project is made possible with support from Christchurch City Council's Creative Communities Scheme.

Proposal workshop:
5.30 - 7.30pm, Tuesday 14 July 2026 via Zoom.
Meeting ID: 943 6458 6411 and passcode: 506203
