About our organisation

PAYPA - Performing Arts & Young People Aotearoa - is the national support entity for artists and organisations engaged in performing arts for, by and with children and young people in Aotearoa New Zealand. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and operate as a leadership organisation and network, for practitioners working for and with tamariki and rangatahi, aged 0-25. PAYPA is New Zealand’s National Centre for ASSITEJ - the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People.

Programme Overview


 

Participants will work with a mentor to grow their skills and/or practice within the sector. They will receive a  (small) stipend for this mahi. This opportunity is for emerging artists and established practitioners who want to expand their professional development. Areas of focus could include: working collaboratively with children, working with schools, touring, funding, company management, playwriting, devising, building international connections, and more. The programme will run between May and  December 2026. Each mentorship is bespoke, up to a maximum of 10 hours. Verbal and video submissions may also be submitted.
