ActionActors an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneur looking to grow an existing business
ActionActors Ltd
About our organisation
I founded ActionActors Ltd in 2011 during my tenure as a board member of Equity NZ (10+yrs) & Film Auckland (4yrs). I would be invited to speak to graduating students from Unitec & South Seas acting courses. Based on my own experience of raising 3 now adult children while trying to make my living as an actor, I decided to create a temp employment agency that could support performing artists to the generate extra vital income as they pursue their chosen career. Through the years we have worked with a large variety of clients, large regional bodies, major transport sector companies & small niche communication/activation agencies. Many have worked with us on multiple jobs/activations. The agency is currently an approved supplier to Auckland Council & clients have included, AirNZ, Auckland Transport, WSP, GHD, Images & Sound, Radiate Studios, Aurecon, Auckland One Rail, Fresh Concept, JohnStaff & more. Many in the performing arts sector have provided us with testimonials outlining their appreciation for the opportunities that have allowed them to earn income & support their careers. Clients have also supplied extremely positive testimonials.
Programme Overview
ActionActors has established a solid reputation within the performing arts and corporate sectors. As a current approved supplier of temporary personnel to Auckland Council, the agency is positioned for significant growth.
This potential was highlighted in a 2025 meeting with the Deputy Mayor, where it was recognized that the Council could substantially increase its support for the performing arts sector at no additional cost, simply by directing existing temp staffing requirements through ActionActors. A similar opportunity exists with major corporate sponsors of the arts, who can fulfill their CSR goals by hiring from within the creative sector.
The business model is proven and sustainable. For six years, ActionActors was a contracted supplier to Auckland Transport, achieving an annual turnover in excess of $600,000.
The Transition
After 14 years at the helm, I feel it is the right time to hand the agency over to a new owner who has the energy to explore these growth avenues.
I am committed to a smooth handover and will work alongside the new owner(s) during an agreed transition period. This includes introductions to existing clients and a full briefing on our current systems. I am also open to a flexible sale structure, involving a reasonable upfront deposit with the balance paid over time as the company generates income.
If you are genuinely interested in owning a business that directly supports personnel in the performing arts sector, I would be very happy to discuss offers, options, and ideas.
