UXBRIDGE Arts and Culture is East Auckland's creative hub. Around 100,000 people use the centre each year for classes, workshops, performances, exhibitions, community activities and venue hire.
UXBRIDGE is located on Uxbridge Road, a short walk from the centre of Howick Village beside Howick Library and Ō Wairoa Marae.

The UXBRIDGE Creative Fellowship recognises emerging artists and creative practitioners living in or connected to East Auckland who demonstrate excellence in their work and have reached a pivotal moment in their artistic practice. This fellowship supports practitioners working in visual arts, applied arts, design, moving image, music, performance, creative writing, or any other creative discipline. Funds may be applied to project research, development and delivery costs, professional development, or travel.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
· Demonstrate a connection to East Auckland (Howick, Bucklands Beach, Pakuranga, East Tamaki, Botany and Flat Bush), either through current residence, past residence, cultural affiliation, or artistic practice rooted in the region.
· Be a New Zealand citizen or
have legal permanent resident status.
· Be at least 18 years old.
· Submit a project proposal that is original, feasible, and achievable within a 24-month timeframe.
· Be willing and able to share the outcomes of their project through our UXBRIDGE programme platforms and participate in media coverage as requested.
· Organisations are not eligible. Artists working in collaborations or in groups must apply as individuals.
· The awardee must complete a final report within 60 days of the end of their grant or project.

How to apply
Applicants should submit a project proposal, a personal statement explaining their connection to East Auckland, and supporting material such as a resume or portfolio. Letters of support may be included. Applications must be emailed to director@uxbridge.org.nz by 11:59 pm on 6 December 2026.
