The New Zealand Art Crime Research Trust is a Charitable Trust which hosts a regular Art Crime Symposium, advances multi-disciplinary research into art crime and related issues, and encourages awareness of art crime in all its manifestations and forms, with a particular focus on the New Zealand environment.

For the 2026 Art Crime Symposium
To be held at the Auckland Art Gallery on Saturday 19 September 2026
The theme of the 2026 Symposium is:
‘The Cost of Art Crime’.
We invite submission of a 250-word abstract for a 20-minute in-person presentation (plus 10 minutes for Q & A), relating directly to the Symposium’s theme. Specific areas that we are seeking presenters for include:
· Conservation
· Public Art
· Artificial Intelligence
· Indigenous Art
Although we are a New Zealand organisation, we welcome papers that have a global reach.
