Gow Langsford Gallery is seeking a reliable and hands-on Gallery Operations Assistant to support our team across exhibition delivery, artwork handling, and the day-to-day running of our gallery and warehouse spaces.

This is a practical, varied role suited to someone who enjoys working behind the scenes, takes pride in well-organised spaces, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to a wide range of tasks.

Key details:

  • Approx. 24 hours per week

  • Must be available to work Mondays

  • Remaining hours spread over 2–3 additional days

  • Full and clean driver’s license essential


About the role:

Working closely with the Logistics Manager, you will assist with preparing exhibitions, handling and installing artworks, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining the gallery and warehouse environments. This includes everything from art handling and install support through to basic cleaning, organising, and general upkeep of spaces.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with exhibition preparation and installation

  • Artwork handling, packing, and deliveries

  • Supporting the organisation and maintenance of the warehouse

  • Day-to-day upkeep of gallery spaces (cleaning, organising, presentation)

  • Managing hanging supplies and equipment

  • Assisting with gallery vehicles and logistics tasks

  • Providing general support to the wider gallery team as needed

About you:

  • Some hands-on experience with art handling, installation, or gallery/warehouse work
  • A full, clean driver’s licence (this one’s essential, not optional)
  • Good practical skills and physical capability (lifting, installing, moving works safely)
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow processes but also take initiative
  • A positive, flexible attitude in a fast-paced environment
