Mō mātou | About Us

The Dust Palace Charitable Trust (TDPCT) has been developing circus arts education, infrastructure and sector capability for the last decade, growing circus as an art form and enabling its public appreciation by supporting circus theatre and circus training.

Our core purposes include: Supporting Circus Facilities and Learning in Auckland, Supporting Circus Theatre, Up-skilling Circus Professionals in Auckland, Empower indigenous people and people of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds within Tāmaki Makaurau to become a substantial presence in the future of circus and Ensure Te Tiriti o Waitangi is upheld in all actions and relationships.

Dust Palace operates two circus schools, a circus venue - Ellerslie Arts, residencies, memberships for professionals, a youth company and regularly tours our artistic mahi both nationally and internationally. The next phase sees us reaching 20 years in operation in 2029.

TDPCT is a voluntary, charitable board and we’re looking for people who want to make an engaged difference to the lives of our students, circus professionals, stakeholders and arts audiences. The Board meets online up to eight times per year, with at least one meeting held kanohi ki te kanohi / face to face at our circus hub in Penrose, Auckland. Candidates will ideally be based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, but we welcome interest from anyone across Aotearoa New Zealand.
